Dr Karen Worth

KarenBMedSci BMBS MRCGP GPSI

I am originally from North London but came to Nottingham to attend medical school, in the 1980’s and stayed, as I love it here!

Before joining Welbeck surgery in Jan 2011, I had been working as a GP for many years. I was previously a partner in an inner-city practice in Radford, and then worked as a salaried GP for a few years in a practice in Carlton.

I work at Welbeck Surgery 4 days a week (weekdays except Wednesday). On Wednesdays I teach/train medical students at Nottingham University Medical School, where I work as a clinical lecturer.

I am also a specialist helping people with Substance Misuse problems, and run clinics both at Welbeck Surgery and in the city.

I also act as a GP appraiser, helping to appraise and revalidate other GPs in Nottingham.

Dr Rebecca Lloyd (f)

Dr LloydBMedSci BMBS MRCGP DFSRH Gpwsi

I am originally from Reading, but came to Nottingham to start Medical School in 1998.

After university I worked in hospitals in Nottingham & inner city GP practices in Sneinton & Lenton as part of my GP training.  After qualifying as a GP I did some locum jobs at practices around the city & then returned to my training practice in Lenton where I became a GP partner.

I moved to Welbeck surgery in October 2013 and was on maternity leave in 2014 and 2018.

I have now returned to work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

I am also a specialist GP helping people with substance misuse problems.

Dr Simone Elliss (f)

Dr med univ (MD) MRCGP DFSRH

Originally from Graz, Austria, I grew up surrounded by medicine as my father’s GP surgery formed part of our house. It was his enthusiasm and empathy which inspired me to study medicine and become a GP myself.

Shortly after my A levels I met my now husband, who was studying in Graz on his year abroad from Nottingham University and after finishing my degree I moved to Nottingham.I completed my junior doctor training in Stoke-on-Trent, after which I trained for several years as a hospital doctor at King’s Mill Hospital. This was very interesting and provided me with a good knowledge base for General Practice.

Over the past fifteen years I have been working in Burton Joyce and Netherfield as a salaried GP and I am now extremely delighted to join the team at Welbeck surgery.

Dr Catherine Worsey (f)

MBChB, DRCOG, DFFP, FRACGP, PGCME, DPD

I’m originally from Nottingham and after training at Liverpool University I returned to train in Nottinghamshire hospitals. I worked in Australia for a few years and became interested in skin surgery there. When I returned to general practice in Nottingham I developed my interest in dermatology. I’ve worked in St Anns and Mapperley before I joined the surgery in 2019 and run a minor surgery and joint injection service.
